**How to make your own Isolation Suit**
v. 1
Disclaimer:Creating an Isolation suit (from now on, referred to as iso-suit) was made possible by buying extra items and deleting, moving and copying scripts about. This over extends the functionality of the products you bought. Therefore, do not bug the creator/authors of the items.
By trying this, you admit having a reasonable skill in Editing things in-world. While we are more than willing to help (if we are not in isolation, gagged bound ourselves), we can’t guarantee success. We do our best to describe in best detail the steps we have undertaken to make this work and give you as best an experience as we can.
*HOWEVER: By reading on Marine’s blog, there is something in the making that will mimic/approach the Bane suit as mentioned in the story. Considering the work that Marine has done and keeps doing for the SL BDSM community. I think it’s only fair to say that 1) we owe her (And Sophia Barren) a multitude of thanks 2) Above all IF she releases the bane suits for Mass Production, go and BUY IT!! She deserves all the support.
Note: This tutorial is split up into three parts: The first is for core iso suit components: hood, blindfold, gag, and catsuit. The second is for the restraints I used in the suit, and perhaps others I think are fun to use and require tutorial setup. The third are for “accessories,” items that don’t fit in the first two categories but I think are fun anyway. I might be adding to the third section as I find more toys *giggle*
ADD:Please also note that this tutorial is based on the Real Restraints version 1.11. We are currently working on updating the tutorial and trying to work out if and how to safely upgrade all your items to version 1.12. As soon as we have worked out the kinks we will update the tutorial and announce it on the blog as well.
Index
Basic Isolation Suit
Suit: Bugshit Black Metallic Catsuit. L$100 (Or any black latex/rubber catsuit really, Although I think this is the most affordable one I’ve found.)
Hood: Inflatable Latex Ballhood by Lycia. L$350, plus any Real Restraint item to pull scripts from, with the exception of the slave crate. I think the cheapest is the blindfold, L$160.
Instructions:
First, take whatever you are pulling the RR scripts from and rez it in the ground. You may need to use ctrl+alt+t to see it. Open it, and hit copy to inventory. This will put a folder named the same as the restraint with all the items that were in the restraint in it. Once you are done with that, you may pick up the RR restraint. You are done with it 🙂
Next, rez the ballhood on the ground. Open the ballhood and empty it’s contents. You may do this by just deleting them, which COMPLETELY gets rid of them (no going back from that), or you can copy them to inventory, which keeps a copy if things go wrong.
Third, find where the RR scripts are, and copy the following scripts into the ball hood:
- &Gender
- *Alarm
- *Autolock
- *Give keys
- *Longtime
- *Realkey
- *RL Time
- Lockable
- Locable_Config.1.0.1
- Lockable_Plugins
Also move the RealKey object into the hood.
Finally, from the Restrained Life scripts, put in &Viewer,*Allow, NoRecieveChat and NoRecieveIM.
All done! Just put it on, lock it, (Or find someone to lock it for you) and enjoy!
Blindfold: You could use the Real Restraint blindfold, for L$160. However, the knot on the back of it sticks out the back of the ballhood, so I took Dari’s yummy leather blindfold, for L$200, and put the scripts from the RR blindfold in it so I had blurry options.
Instructions:
First, you’ll need to rex the RR blindfold on the ground. It rezzes invisible; use ctrl+alt+t to see it. Open it, and copy its contents into your inventory. They’ll go into a folder named the same as the blindfold. Once that is done, pick the blindfold up, you won’t need it anymore.
Next, drop Dari’s blindfold on the ground and open it. You will need to take the existing scripts out of the leather blindfold; You can do this by deleting them (which is PERMANENT, so you can’t get them back. No, they don’t go to the trash), or by copying them into your inventory (which gives you a backup copy).
After that, find where the RR blindfold contents are and move ALL of them to the leather blindfold. That should include the following scripts:
- &Color all
- &Gender
- *Alarm
- *Autolock
- *Give Keys
- *Longtime
- *Realkey
- *RL Time
- Lockable
- Lockable_Config.0.0.1
- Lockable_Plugins
- Lockable_Shortcut
- RealBlindfold_Base
- Visible.alllink
And the objects RealBlindfold_HUD and RealKey.
Finally, from the Restrained Life scripts, put in &Viewer and if you want the *Edit (if you feel adventurous)
That’s it! Pick it up and enjoy!
Gag: Real Restraint ballgag, L$200.
From the Restrained Life scripts, put the following scripts into it: &Viewer, NoSendChat and NoSendIM.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Restraints
Shackles: I used the collar and leg irons from the Serious Shackles, L$1000, from Marine (Real Restraint). The arm cuffs could easily replace the armbinder, but I love armbinders, they’re so yummy…
Drop each cuff that you are going to use on the ground and put the following Restrained Life Scripts in:
&Viewer in every shackle and the collar.
NoTP , *Allow in the Steel Shackle (RT Ankle)
*Edit in the Steel Shackle (RT Wrist)
That’s it. Pick up the Shackles and wear them. Have Fun!
.
.
.
Arm binder: KDC‘s Laced Armbinder, L$380, with the scripts pulled from Marine‘s (Real Restraint)Police Handcuffs, L$250.
Instructions:
Rez the right handcuff on the ground and open it. copy its contents to your inventory. They will go to a folder named the same as the cuff. You can now pick it up, you’re done with it.
Next, drop the arm binder on the ground and open it. Now before you do anything else. Find the KDC Animator script and move that to your inventory. If you don’t do this, sadly the arm binder will eat your scripts! Find the RR scripts you pulled from the handcuff and put the following ones into the arm binder:
- &Gender
- *Alarm
- *Autolock
- *Give keys
- *Leash
- *Longtime
- *Realkey
- *RL time
- Lockable
- Lockable_config.0.1.1
- Lockable_Plugins
- Lockable_Shortcut
- ReaRestraint_Base
You will also want the following objects in the binder:
- Leash_Handle
- RealKey
- ReslRestraint_HUD
If you want the binder to make a locking sound when you lock it, also move the “PlaySound” script and the sounds “handcuffs sound_123456” and “Unlock_0”
Now, from the Real Restraint scripts, put the &Viewer and *Edit scripts in.
Then as a final step, move the KDC Animator script back from your inventory to the arm binder.
That’s it! Pick up the binder and wear it! Have fun!
Accessories
Ball Gloves: The gloves are some of Lycia‘s Inflatable latex Mittens, L$350. However, I wanted them to work with Restrained Life (So I couldn’t remove them when they were locked, actual interaction blocking comes from the armbinder), and I also wanted both of them to act like one unit… i.e. like how, when you click on the left wrist’s shackle, the menu for the right wrist comes up. The scripts I used come from the Real Restraint legirons,L$250 (The Ballet boots use handcuff scripts, oddly enough)
Instructions:
If you’ve done this for the other items, then you’re familiar with the routine. find the right legiron, drop it on the ground, open it, and copy its contents to your inventory. Once you’ve done that, You can pick it back up, you’re done with it.
Now, do the same with the left. Yes, that’s right, drop the left legiron, open it, and copy its contents to inventory. You’ll need those too :). Now pick it up, you’re done with it too.
Now, drop the left ballglove and remove the scripts from it, either by deleting (permanent!) or copying to inventory (keeps a backup). After that, move the scripts “Lockable_Gateway_Slave.legirons” and “Lockable_Toucher_Master_legirons” from the left legiron into the left ballglove, and the “&Viewer” script from the Restrained Life scripts as well. Feel free to pick it up now, you’re finished with this one…
Now, drop the right ballglove on the ground and open it. Remove the scripts from this one too, and put the following scripts from the right legiron into the ballglove:
- &Gender
- *Alarm
- *Autolock
- *Give keys
- *Longtime
- *RealKey
- *RL time
- Lockable
- Lockable_Config.0.2.1
- Lockable_Gateway_Master_Legirons
- Lockable_Plugins
- Lockable_Shortcut
- Lockable_Toucher_Slave.legirons
Also put the “Realkey” object in as well.
If you want it to make a locking sound, then put the “PlaySound” script and the “handcuffs sound_123456” and “Unlock_0” sounds into the ballglove.
That should be it! Pick up the right ballglove, wear it and the left ballglove, and enjoy!
Ballet Boots: The boots are Dark Eden‘s black ballet ankle boots, L$100, with scripts from Real Restraint‘s police handcufs, $L250. Of course, you don’t have to make these lockable, but I wanted to make it as impossible to change any aspect of the outfit as I could. It’s built to take long term play, and to withstand second thoughts. 🙂
Instructions:
This is almost identical to what we did with the ball gloves.. First, drop the left handcuff, open it, then copy its contents to your inventory. You can pick it up after that, you’re done with it. Then repeat the process with the right cuff.
Now, drop the left ballet boot on the ground (make sure you drop the boot itself, not the ankle piece). For this one, I don’t think you can open it, so you will have to edit it and go to the contents tab. Then, put the following scripts from the left handcuff into the left ballet boot:
- Lockable_Gateway_Slave.policecuffs
- Lockable_Toucher_Master_policecuffs
You’ll also want to copy the &Viewer script from the Restrained Life scripts into the ballet boot.
Now,pick up the left boot and drop the right boot. edit it and find the contents tab, then drop the following scripts from the right handcuff into the boot:
- *Alarm
- *Autolock
- *Give keys
- *Longtime
- *RealKey
- *RL time
- Lockable
- Lockable_Config.0.1.1
- Lockable_Gateway_Master_policecuffs
- Lockable_Plugins
- Lockable_Shortcut
- Lockable_Toucher_Slave.policecuffs
Also drop the “RealKey”object into the boot.
If you want it to make a locking sound, then put the “PlaySound” script and the “handcuffs sound_123456” and “Unlock_0” sounds into the ballglove.
That’s it! Wear it and the left boot and have fun!

Velicia (V-4275) & Lex (L-8746)
Excellent information. very clearly presented! I haven’t tried it yet, but I would like to 🙂
You can get a very good free latex catsuit from KCreations at the Little Shop of Kink – several colours including black.
If I wore an Iso-suit, I would not want the option of struggling out. However I guess that is part of the RR lockable script and therefore not removable.
Thanks
Thank you! I’d like to add alternative places to get latex catsuits when I get the time, thanks for the heads up!
Struggling out is easy to counter if you have a handler; they simply check up on you every now and again, and if your restraints don’t say “locked and very secure,” then they relock them. I don’t think you can struggle out of those things in less than a day anyway, unless I suppose you’re on 12 hours straight or something. I’ve never managed it…
I am so impressed by both the precision and thoroughtness (if that’s even a word) of your tutorial, and the knowledge of my architecture, necessary to juggle with the scripts like that… Double thumbs up dear !
I tried some of this, using the KDC armbinder. It just ate all my scripts, they were just gone.
Grrr I remember that… had that problem with mine, I forgot… pull out the KDC animator script (don’t remember the exact name, Lex can look it up once she’s out) and then move the other scripts, then the KDC script back once it’s done… Sorry about that! I’ll update the tutorial when I get the chance, getting late for me
Vel
Actually if someone would get me the name of the script I would be most grateful. I have added the warning about that. and also added some extra text to the restraints part 🙂
As for me being out of my own suit. I think that might be something that is rather questionable at the time being. See the main blog for this..
Lex.
Please don’t destroy your Dari’s Haus items doing this. My items will have RL viewer support added as I am able. In fact the Blindfold, Panel Gag, and Collars already do. I won’t support any item destroyed in this fashion. Join my group in world, or read my blog (http://dariencaldwell.wordpress.com) to keep up with updates to my products. Thank you. 🙂
Good to hear your items are RL compatible, I didn’t know that! The panel gag is sooo nummy! I did what I did to the blindfold to get blurry setting though, not just for RL compatibility…
As we note in the disclaimer, Item creators can’t be held responsible for doing what I did to the items. Feel free to tell anyone who does to bug off, or send them to me 🙂
hehe I’ll probably just toss them in a cell and forget about them >.> 😉
*giggle* careful, I know a few people who would see that as a reward…
you mean, people like *you* sis?
Hey, I hate cages! They stick you in one place! Kitties need to wander! 😛
Yes sis, of course you do, you hated blindfolds and such also. And look what you created… so your point is exactly what?
……………………………………………
Wow, the instructions are accurate and easy to understand, I just completed mine today and having my first isolation experience, and everything is working so far, thanks for the wonderful work 😉
Thank you very much for writing such a great and accurate instruction. You helped me a great deal with the construction of my own version of an isolation suit. I’m using a slightly modified version of your suit now and I really have to thank you for the idea of using Dariens blindfold instead of Marines. It looks much better when there’s no knot sticking out of the ballhood.
Kathi
Thanks this is very helpful. I am looking at how to make my KDC pony hooves, Bridle, and chastity RL compatible and this points the way to do it.
Dari, thank you so much for the RL 1.12 compatibility on the lovely gag and blindfold. I am currently wearing that instead of a bit with my KDC bridle. Then again i dont have a whole lot of choice in the matter. hehe.
I look forward to reading up on the 1.12 stuff. I will probably pick up a pair or 4 of the RR Police Handcuffs to use for the fixing the KDC parts i have.
Thankyou again.
Dani
Thank you for your compliments, all! Dani, I’ve just recently written some scripts to allow Master to lock my CCP ponygear on, makes ponyplay a bit more interesting when I can’t take anything off on my own. 🙂
Miss Marine:
Reagarding the Arm Binder instructions.
“Now, from the Real Restraint scripts, put the &Viewer and *Edit scripts in.”
daVida understands that &Viewer script is no longer needed for viewer v1.10.
daVida doesn’t know where to find a bundle of miscellanious scripts to get *Edit script.
daVida was following the guidance in this tutorial to attempt to load a “KDC jointed eggbutt liverpool curb bit with copper rollers” with script from a Real Restraint Ballgag.
The RR Ballgag scripts went in and seem to work, but the KDC bridle control panel is now gone but at least the chat command to leash still works.
Curtsy
divadavida, the biggest problem is that you are trying to get two click events to battle with each other and as with these things, only one of them can work. As we described, the way things work with the items, is over extending the functionality. in most cases it’s using the ‘outer-case’ of an item (ie the arm binder, the blindfold or the ballet boots)
As for the scripts, the scripts described to work the KDC arm binder are solemnly based on the V1.11 of the Real Restraints.
The scripts are/have changed a bit since that time. The *Edit script is now mostly replaced by the ‘*Control‘ and the new ‘*Allow‘ script.
I hope that helps 🙂
lexi
At some point we really need to update this tutorial, to include the newer functionality. The v1.13 of real restraint with version 1.10.1 of the Restrained Life viewer, offers very interesting possibilities about extending the isolation experience.
I am thinking of restricting of traditional used chat channels such as /77 (which is used to access your gags), not able to get to your inventory / receiving note cards and what have you not.
It *should* make the experience so much more uhm well interesting 🙂
Well I tried some thing similar with a different device. Using the police cuff scripts I wanted to add these to the RF Armbar. I’m not sure if how many of you are familar with it. Everything was fine until I locked the armbar. The defualt animation for the armbar became twitchy. At first I thought maybe my ao or something else might be trying to overide it. However after some thought I realized it was the police cuff scripts “looking” for their animations. At least that’s what I think it is. Oh well lesson learned.
Melody, I believe there’s a force-animation script in there, you may need to remove it to get it working right.
[…] right, on to the second question on all your minds: “When are you going to update the Iso Suit Tutorial to […]
Oh, one thing. You don’t need the KDC Animator script at all, and it’s true this script is dangerous as it deletes things that are not made by Kyrah (probably a security).
The ForceAnim script (which I have not seen any mention of in this tutorial) is included in the cuffs and works with any animation.
BUT
If you’re planning on using ForceAnim with the KDC_armbinder animation, make sure you turn AutoRefresh off or you’ll see your arms flap in a funny and non-sexy way 🙂
Marine
Thats good to know .. although with April 1st coming up. I’d pay to see sis flapping around in her iso suit … it would amuse me 😉 .. perhaps some kind of public humiliation play???
*grins*
just kidding sis. you know I love you!
I have lost a friend in Second Life and wondered if she had gone into Isolation. Really worried about her. If you know please let me know in SL. her SL name is Esmira1da7 Repine
David
David, I haven’t heard about it, no. Is she still on your friends list? If so, you should be able to IM her when she’s online, and it will tell you whether she’s been blocked or not.
On another note, don’t be too worried if she has dived into iso. If she’s like the rest of us, she’s wanted to try it ever since she heard of it, and has now taken the opportunity too. 🙂
She is still on my friends list, but she has not come on line since March 20th, If you search for her in “SL people” her profile is not there. Her mobile is dead as is her email address. I guess I will just have to wait and see! Thank you for answering me Valicia.
Just to “tie up” the above comments, Esmira1da7 Repine has left SL as RL has taken over. But I am told she is happy. Which is all that meatters really! So good news!!!
Hi all,
Just want to check, has the tutorial been updated recently?
I’m desparate to try the iso suit 🙂
Jamie

With what stuff are you making money? If you put the same effort into RL like you do in SL, you’d be a billionaire soon. Shaky, shaky, shaky!
Comments like that will get you banned, fella. Lay off the trolling.
The whole outfit sounds cool, but the question on my mind is:
How will it work with the new rlv viewer?
There’s so much new stuff, and I wonder if this article is even accurate anymore… I’d rather not start making the suit without knowing whether I’ll be able to finish it.
This howto is pretty old. There have been a lot of updates, particularly to the RR stuff. I’m not sure how much it changes this guide, although it is still possible to move Marine’s scripts into other stuff. Even better, Marine has implemented a new update system since then which supports this kind of thing.
To be honest, there have been a lot of new products that have come out now that kinda negate the real need to do this. In particular there are several different banishment helmets out now (Mo Design comes immediately to mind), as well as a new arm binder from Marine. Not to mention Mesmerize Dungeon’s yummy ballet boots…
Still, if you’re so inclined, it *is* still possible to do this. Some of the scripts in the RR stuff will be a little different, but they’re still quite tinker friendly.
If you’d like to discuss this more, feel free to contact me in world. At the very least, I can give you LMs where you can find equivalents to this stuff in-world.
I’d also add that while Marine’s products are excellent and there are features in them not replicated in other products, they’re nocopy.
Bondage Witch and Mesmerize Dungeon restraints are copy, so for `hacking’ they can be a better choice if the functions you require are catered for.
[…] and I spend about the last of my money on a pure black latex catsuit (which will be part of an isolation suit). After we got home, we decided to see how and if the crate worked just as it should. So as […]
