There is no reason to uninstall RLV, you can have both on your system. I know a few people who run the normal viewer but will relog in to RLV if they find someone they feel they can trust with it. In Emerald that’s as simple as checking the checkbox for RLV and relogging, in the normal viewer you run the SecondLife.exe instead of the RestrainedLife.exe.

For myself I always run RLV but I don’t wear anything on open access. On the increasingly rare occasions I do bottom, it’s a simple matter to give the top access to my #RLV and have fun watching them try to make sense of that junkyard (it needs a real good cleanout).

If you like, IM me in world and I’ll show you how to run RLV at little to no risk. it’s unfortunate you’ve had bad experiences, such experiences is a large part of my motivation to write what I write.

You still don’t get it, what I’m doing is “fun”. I don’t intend to “win” anything, you may be better than most but all this is to me is a form of recreation, between Python coding and working on LSL scripts.

I don’t really care if you drag this out to 10 posts or bow out. I’ll give you a few kudos for not being a net-noob though.

I would love to see a light version of it – disallowing doms to forbid me sendIMs / receive IMs. Since IMs are OOC there is no reason to give a dom the power of them ;p

I hate wannabe RP-doms who would just for fun cut my IMs – the attempt was there already many times – which is why I don’t use RLV. (the collar I wear searches for RLV and I get a notice as soon someone tries to enable something connected with RLV) Even telling them to not do it does not prevent them from doing it, tried that already as well. I even have a pick in my profle especially for NOT turning my IMs off while on RLV – still they do it, and now I uninstalled it. Sad story, the idea is nice.

Oh this isn’t hatred at all, dearie, it’s fun. Obviously you’re not familiar with flame wars and Smackdown — at one time on USENET I used to get five or six of these things out a day when clueless dolts would wheel into various newsgroups I read and start saying agitating. We’d make sport of the dolt for a while, until the point that they would cry, pick up their ball and go play elsewhere.

I haven’t had a good chance to let out some Smackdown for a while, so when Lex pointed me to your post, I wanted to do a bit, like that old song says, “for the good times.” You’re just the unlucky deer I had in the scope of my .30-30 the past couple days.

I was going to deconstruct more of your post, but I see now you’re moving to the “I’m better than you and can string you along, fishy fishy” that usually comes along in a good flame war. This part usually means the target has no good answer for anything posited, and now must take a stand of moral and verbal superiority to his/her interlocutors. After all, you can’t say you were wrong, nor can you admit we had a point. Ergo, the only thing left is to puff yourself up with moral pride and say how horrible we all are while continuing to “string us along.”

So rather than continue with your inane ramblings above, let’s just look at what you’ve graced us with so far. First, you come on this blog out of the blue and accuse “the maker of RLV” of dementia because she didn’t provide a set of instructions for a FREE product on a level that a young blowfish can understand. Even though the majority of us that read this blog have used RLV and understand it quite well, you seem to think that it’s incomprehensible for anyone without a 3rd grade education. Fair enough, we all have our learning problems.

Had you just said “I found RLV difficult to use because the instructions were, IMO, a bit lacking” we might have sympathized with you. But rather than making a rational point, you make one that you admit above to being provocative.

Lex calls you on that statement, in a fair but firm way suggesting that the problem is that you didn’t read the instructions well (or at all) and so had issues. I asked you, nicely, what you thought the “V” in “RLV” meant. At this point you could have chosen to back off, say something like “I didn’t understand the instructions, but I got it working, thanks for your help” and all would have been done.

But rather than “moral superior” that you now claim to be, you chose to crap all over the floor. You bitch about how noobs are lamebrains who can’t read a document unless it has Teletubbies, Donald Duck and uses words on a Richard Scarry level. You kvetch that no one seems to know what a “viewer” is (even though the word “viewer” is plastered all over the download screen). You tell Lex her time is worthless for writing docs and you wouldn’t read them anyway. Then you finish with suggesting that Lex has never written anything technical (you do seem to like to make the kind of judgments about people you’re crying about above) when you know nothing of Lex, her abilities or what she does in real life.

And you have the utter gall to cry “foul!” when hit with Smackdown?

These days we find people with amazing senses of entitlement. I teach on a college level, and I have students that think all they have to do is show up and they get a C, that if they do work that looks like a yak vomited all over a piece of notebook paper it’s worth an A, and that they don’t have to do anything like read, study, or make an effort. All they want to do is play with their iPhones, text each other, talk about hair, cars and sex, and skate through life given everything. They act shocked — SHOCKED — when their crappy paper is read and they get a D on it, or they don’t get an A on something that looks like it’s covered in albatross droppings.

The Western world is spiraling down the tubes because the majority of people think they are “owed something” for simply breathing, eating and excreting waste in toilets. You are simply one small cog in this entire wheel of entitlement. God forbid you should actually take the time to “read” something, or ask for help: everything is supposed to be pre-packaged and put on training wheels so you don’t have to exert the slightest amount of effort to learn anything. I see this all the time, and the fact that you “outed” yourself for us all to see is what got you in my crosshairs — well that and jumping all over my friend Lex when she rather nicely called you on your stupid statement.

This very feeling of entitlement you offer up is why the West is eventually going to fall to the Chinese in the economic and political arenas. The Chinese don’t have to fire a shot to take over the world — all they need to do is just wait for the West to get so fat, lazy and stupid that the industrious, educated and sophisticated nation of China can simply step in and take over the ruins. I give the West 30 years at most, probably less at the rate things are going.

When your kids can’t find any decent jobs since they are all in China, we are all learning Mandarin as the world’s language, and you can’t get buy anything without having enough Yuan in your pocket, you can thank the sense of entitlement you’re part of for the New World Order.

Because I spend so much time as either a pony or in other forms where I’ve got an alternate name, I really wanted a renamer that would honor the restrictions. You truly aspire to project and dismantle a person’s character from afar and it is now two completely different character views and attacks you have cast about me (such strong assumptions from so few observations..)
